Work In Progress (Red Fox)

This week I’m working on a painting of a red fox in a winter scene and trying out some new techniques for creating the snowy areas, which I learned in a recent workshop.  It’s way outside of my comfort zone since it’s all about using big round brushes, soft edges and a “wet on wet” application of the paint.  I was a bit tentative at first but I’m starting to like this more and more!  Even after more than 10 years of painting with watercolor, I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface and there’s so much more to learn!

The detail in your watercolors is amazing. I can just feel how bushy his tail is.

    Thanks Molly!
