I’ve been selected as a finalist in the Animal/Wildlife category of The Artist’s Magazine 29th Annual Art Competition. When I first learned this a few weeks ago, I wasn’t sure if this meant my painting was still in the running for a winning spot; however, it was recently confirmed my art made it into the final round only. As a finalist, my name will appear in the December 2012 issue of the magazine. This is quite an accomplishment in itself, since this competition is open to artists around the world. Can you imagine the number of entries the judges have to look at and then single out the finalists and winners from?! The artwork I submitted is titled, “Comfort Zone”, and is a painting of a White-throated Sparrow. I’m thrilled my art made it as far as it did in this year’s competition and I’m already thinking about what to submit for next year to try again.
