Flights of Fancy – Avian Art by Jeanette Fournier & Rosemary Conroy

American KestrelI’m a bit late in posting this announcement but I’ve some exciting news for the 2014 year.  Better late than never, right?!  You could say I’ve I’ve been painting rather than “posting” these past few weeks.

My friend and fellow animal artist, Rosemary Conroy, and I will have an exhibit in May of this year at The Gallery at WREN in Bethlehem, New Hampshire.  We’re collaborating on a show of our bird art in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Audubon Society, which just happens to be in the year 2014.  We elected to have our show in May because this is an important month for bird migrations as well as one of the months during which Audubon hosts it’s annual Spring bird counts, a well established event.  So, stay tuned for more news and images of the works of art I will be creating for our show!  I’ve got my brushes to the paper here in the studio and trying to come up with LOTS of new bird art.  I plan to focus on paintings of various woodland species while Rosemary’s work will include coastal and shore birds, among others.  As a “sneak peek”, here’s one of the paintings I just finished of an American Kestrel.
