Flights of Fancy – Avian Art by Jeanette Fournier & Rosemary Conroy (Screech Owl)

ScreechOwlWIPThe owl in this painting is a Screech Owl and was inspired from one of my field trips to the the Vermont Raptor Center (aka Vermont Institute of Natural Science) in Vermont.  This painting will be at the upcoming “Flights of Fancy – Avian Art by Jeanette Fournier & Rosemary Conroy”  art exhibition at The Gallery at WREN in Bethlehem, New Hampshire in May.  We were inspired to create art for this exhibition because of this year being the 100th anniversary of the Audubon Society.  Both Rosemary and I are avid “birders”, and consequently, birds are frequent subjects of our respective artworks so we thought this would be the perfect way to celebrate this milestone in the history of the Audubon Society.   A portion of our sales from this show will be donated to the NH Audubon Society.  For my part, my donation will be used specifically for the Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge located here in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, an important habitat for both birds and wildlife.  It is one of my favorite places to walk the trails and look for birds and wildlife, which often then make their way into my artwork.
