Now that the warmer weather is here to stay, the birds are suddenly everywhere around the pond and in the woods. I’m always carrying my camera with me at this time of year because chances are very good I’m going to run across something to photograph. There seems to be an explosion of warbler songbirds this year. It’s a little bit of work getting photos because they hardly sit still long enough for me to focus the camera. Meanwhile, this hawk made an unsuccessful hunting strike at a bird in the brush along the edge of the pond while I was also photographing those same songbirds. Consequently, neither of us got what we wanted! So I took photos of the hawk instead.
When things calmed down again, the songbirds were back to business as usual. This one landed nearby and was singing it’s little heart out, like no one was watching..as the saying goes! Turtles are also on the move right now, seeking nesting sites for their eggs so keep an eye out for turtles crossing roads. I’ve a lot of new images for future artwork to keep me busy in the coming months. Stay tuned for some new paintings!
