This is one of several new paintings I have on exhibit at the 2015 Legacy Exhibit at the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, Vermont. The exhibit opened on Sunday, May 3rd and the gallery is open to the public, if you’re looking for something to do!
On a warm spring day, several years ago, I took a memorable hike into the Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge. It was memorable because of the HUGE flock of Cedar Waxwing birds there at the time, which was also a “life” bird for me. I see them around our pond here at home too and decided to create this little painting. I love the dramatic black mask and the yellow to peachy coloring of these birds was a fun challenge.
