Painting In Progress (Atlantic Puffin)

I think I’m in love.  With puffins.  I’m back to painting Atlantic puffins.  Again.  There is something about these little seabirds that has me hooked lately.  It’s those expressive eyes and that giant, bright and colorful beak that makes them so eye catching.  And, yes, also because I think they are adorable looking too.  For this one, I’m painting on Aquabord, which I tried last year for the first time and really liked.  I’m having to re-learn how to paint on the clay surface since it’s so very different from the paper I’m accustomed to working with but I really like the vivid color that practically bursts off the surface.  What do you think?
