Here’s another look at my painting process with this recently completed watercolor of a snowy owl. All those feather details… whew!! I had to keep stepping away from it every 15 minutes or so in order to look at it with “fresh eyes”. In this instance, my “model” was one of the snowy owls at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science in Quechee, Vermont. On my list “things to do” is to go on a birding adventure so I can look for snowy owls in the field. Until then, the owls at VINS are the perfect muse.
