This painting is the first in a series of paintings I’m working on featuring quilts and birds as the subject matter.  I’ve chosen quilts with colors that reflect the four seasons of New England and will pair the quilt with songbirds common to our backyard feeders.  I’ve titled this one “Stitch In Time” I (Autumn) and chose the northern cardinal for it because I like how the cardinal’s color matches the red found in this quilt.
